Hanby Building Facts

1923 — Hanby was built in 1923 for $169,069.00. It was used as a junior and senior high school

1960 — Hanby was renamed Hanby Junior High School

1980 through 1986 — Hanby housed 5th, 6th, and 7th graders, then became a district office and overflow elementary

2002 — Hanby began as a magnet school for Integrated Arts

2003 — AC was installed here at Hanby. The school was housed in a wing on Central High School for the entire school year

2012— Central College and Longfellow math and science students merged with Hanby Arts creating Hanby Magnet School

2013— New windows were installed

2014— New doors were installed (doors and windows are similar to the original design of the building)

2021—New secured entry was installed moving the offices to the Park Street side of the building
